November 25, 2025, Construction Update

Excavation of sediment from the impoundment has continued for the last few months and is projected to continue similar to current conditions through Winter 2026. Periodic truck traffic will continue entering and leaving the site from/to Wahconah Street to load and transport sediment off-site for the next few months. Sediment is currently being transported off-site to landfills in both New York state and Connecticut. Due to current daylight conditions as well as trucking logistics, construction is now occurring over five, 8-hour workdays each week. Due to management of sediment within the impoundment area itself rather than at the downstream staging area, minor revisions to air quality monitoring locations and methodology have been implemented to better reflect current construction conditions, as noted in the November 21, 2025, Memorandum regarding Monitoring Plan for the Bel Air Removal.
