October 15, 2025 Construction Update

The impoundment was dewatered in September and water is being diverted into the eastern by-pass channel to maintain relatively dry conditions in the main portion of the impoundment to facilitate excavation activities. Excavation of sediment from the impoundment is underway and planned to continue for the next few months. Periodic truck traffic will continue entering and leaving the site from/to Wahconah Street to load and transport sediment off-site for the next few months. Sediment is currently being transported off-site to landfills in both New York state and Connecticut. Due to current daylight conditions as well as trucking logistics, construction is now occurring over five, 8-hour workdays each week.
