July 15, 2025 Construction Update

For the week of July 7 – July 11, work focused on installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) at the existing cross-walk on Wahconah Street near the intersection with Mohawk Street and installation of the northern construction entrance. Air quality continued, but no archaeological monitoring occurred because no excavation occurred in archaeologically sensitive areas.

For the week of July 15 – July 18, the impoundment will continue to lower due to the Phase A water controls installed a few weeks ago.  Excavation in the northern area of the impoundment is scheduled but will not require archaeological monitoring. Sediment will be stockpiled on-site as needed, pending transportation to an out-of-state receiving facility.  Sediment loading and transport may occur mid-week.  Excavation and preparation of the main water bypass channel on the eastern side of the impoundment site is scheduled for this week.
